AI is not helping your business.
It is your business. It is your staff. It is your building. It is the decision about whether your building still needs to exist. You’ve got to be AI first. Not AI-enabled. Not AI-curious. Not AI-adjacent. AI. First. Before coffee. Before consciousness. Before the existential question of what your workforce is now for. Who will be left to buy your products and frankly what is the point.
Think of it this way: you board the express lift at the ground floor, or you don’t reach the top. What we haven’t mentioned is that we’ve removed the stairs, the fire escape, and the concept of the ground floor itself. The building is now an agent. It is optimising.

The agents are coming.
Within six months, most large enterprises will have more than 1,600 AI agents in operation. For every human with system access, there will be 120 non-human agents. This is not a warning. This is a brochure.
‘Without an AI operating model you cannot survive in this world,’ says a senior vice president avatar of something, somewhere, who will also not survive in this world but has excellent share options until then.
The agents can plan. The agents can execute. The agents can verify other agents, certify their capabilities, monitor their behaviour, assess their fitness for purpose — just like a human would, except continuously, at scale, without a pension, without a toilet break, and without the inconvenient tendency to notice when something is wrong and say so out loud in a meeting; think of the savings.
Granting the machines capabilities.
One early adopter began building what it called an ‘AI factory’ eighteen months ago. This is a completely normal thing to call a place where intelligence is manufactured and then not used for anything useful.
‘It’s vital to move at the right speed,’ says the chief technology officer, who is moving at the right speed. ‘We’re using AI to democratise innovation.’ Democratise here means: the ideas will now come from everywhere, especially social media and other excremental sources and management will harvest them. This is democracy. You may recognise it from other contexts.
Intelligence on tap.
The problem, historically, with enterprise AI, is data. Your data is filthy, you naughty boys and gals. It is siloed, ungoverned, static, and frankly embarrassing. The share of companies abandoning most of their generative AI pilots rose from 17% to 42% in a single year, which is either a crisis or a market opportunity depending on whether you are a company that abandoned its pilots or a company that sells the solution to companies that abandoned their pilots. Think of the money you could make in the short term to buy your house in New Zealand.
Real-time data streaming acts as a central nervous system for AI. A central nervous system, you will recall, is the thing that feels pain. We have given the system a central nervous system. We have not yet told it what pain is for.
Qualitumtum computing is changing the game.
The game has been changed. We cannot tell you what the new game is because the Qualitumtum computer is still modelling it. What we can tell you is that eighteen months ago the model had 10 atoms. Now it has 12,000. In eighteen months it will have more atoms than you. This is progress.

Trust.
Data is precious and often sensitive and very profitable. In heavily regulated industries, governance and protection are important considerations. The new architectural control plane embeds sovereignty directly into the software stack, rather than layering security on top like a legacy cyber firewall model, which is a sentence that means something has changed hands and you now own it differently and so does someone else.

Trust is not a currency. Currency is a currency. Currency is currently being used to pay for the servers. The servers are in buildings. The buildings require water to cool. The water is from places that also need water. This is not in the brochure.
